Out and About in Torino

The main press center (MPC)is in the Lingotto complex, which is actually the old Fiat factory. We are adjacent to it (the Lingotto is actually now a huge shopping center) and there are media outlets set up all around it.

Rob, Eugene and Mary stroll around the Olympic Media Center

The first day Mary and I went off site to a very charming little Italian place for lunch. On the way back we had to cross a street that had been barricaded mostly down the middle; so we had to walk to the end of the barricade to cross it. While we were crossing the st. intrepid Italian drivers were using part of the crosswalk as a driveway. Mary found this hilarious:

Mary Mary....

Mary and me in front of the press center....it's cold here!

So far I have had lots of veal and some great pasta. That night we went exploring near downtown Turin to find a nice restaurant....myself and 7 other photogs/techs ended up at Alba (sorry Gloria there were no birds) where we had a very nice dinner with several bottles of wine. Then we went to this Irish pub to watch the superbowl which starts at 12 am here (yes I know Irish pub + American football * Italy=drunkenness..but I was good). Then back to bed.
