Girls on Ice

Inside the hockey stadium
Well after men in tights its Girls on Ice...Sweden vs. USA. Our seats were pretty far down in the arena and we were able to get some pretty good views of the action. By the time we arrived Sweden and the US were basically tied, and after 2 more periods they were still tied.

Scene of many a disappointment


Missed. Again
Eventually they had to do a shootout, where each team gets 5 chances to score a goal on the other team. Basically the US got creamed. What's the deal? They spent all their time down by the goal, but couldn't hit the puck in. I'm not a huge hockey fan but defense, passing, coordination? All sound good to me! I must say the Swedish girls played a good game and did well.

The rest of the event was surprisingly like one in the US, with the cheezy rock music during downtime (to Rob and Eugene's delight they played Coldplay), cheerleaders, and the big jumbotron telling us to make noise, etc etc.
