Men in Tights Pt.1

So now that things are pretty much up and running I was hoping to sneak out after work and try to see some events. On monday night I got lucky and me and Helen went to Palavela for speed skating.

After getting through security we tried to find the press area, or any area we could see the action. We went into the 'journalist area' and were greeted with a bunch of journalists watching the event on tele:

Athelete Interview Area
The very helpful volunteer informed us that we would have to wait until after the heat was over. So we waited. Then we asked again...and she said the athletes wouldn't come out until the heat was over. OK. Not quite what we wanted.

Eventually we conned our way into the journalist area, or should I say we were inside but not at the spectators booth. One whole side of the Palavela venue is reserved for journalists and photographers. Amazing...
